"Just what the hell IS this thing?!" Jupiter growled as she dodged another vicious attack from the monster.
"We don't need to know what it is or isn't, we just need to kill it!" Serenity shouted, unleashing a flurry of Crescent Moon blasts. The monster deflected them all with its unusual energy shield, as before. It retaliated with a flashing bolt of white-hot plasma which slammed into Serenity and sent her flying.
"Subarashii...TOTEMO SUBARASHII!!" the monster howled triumphantly. It leered at the fallen Senshi; they crouched warily, breathing hard, their fuku blackened and smouldering from repeated plasma blasts.
"This...doesn't look good..." Venus groaned.
"You ladies appear to be in distress," a smooth male voice said. The Senshi and the monster looked around for the source.
A young man stood leaning against a utility post, head bowed as he donned a black fedora. He wore a grey pinstripe shirt, dark slacks, a brown vest, and a white necktie. Hat in place, he looked up, penetrating the monster with sharp, dark eyes.
"Soko made da," he said sternly.
"Abunai!" Serenity called out, straining to stand, hoping she had enough strength left to protect this foolish bystander...
Who had just slapped a strange-looking device onto his belt, and held what looked like a purple flash drive in his right hand.
"HENSHIN!"
A green flash drive materialised in a slot on the device. The newcomer slammed it down, then jammed the purple one into the second slot. With both locked in place, he pushed the two slots to the sides like levers, the one on the right with his left hand and the one on the left with his right.
In a flash, the hat-wearing boy was replaced by a figure in shiny, form-fitting armour, green on his right side, dark purple on his left; a silver-and-black line split the two-tone armour down the middle. Large, bug-like red eyes and an antenna-shaped crest on his brow were the only features on his masked face. A shimmering scarf trailed out behind him in a sudden gust of wind.
"Now," the figure intoned in an oddly doubled voice, "count up your crimes!"
