The perpetually cheerful, happy-go-lucky captain of the Mugiwara Pirates. Luffy and his crew sail the Grand Line in search of the legendary "One Piece", the treasure of the great pirate king Gol D. Roger.
Having eaten the Gum-Gum Fruit as a child, Luffy's body possesses most properties of rubber. He can stretch any part of his body to ridiculous proportions. His elasticity makes him a frustrating and difficult opponent to battle.
